Cook’s is a leading provider of underground utility and stormwater management service and install in our region. This includes waterline installation, sanitary sewer, gravity sewer, gas line installation, underground conduit, underground utilities, communications, public works, and storm drain installation. Our team also provides underground jack and bore services – allowing us to install utilities under busy roadways, without having to open cut the road and disturb the flow of traffic.
Environmental Sustainability and Hydroseeding
Environmental sustainability is a key part of business for the Cook’s Excavating team, and it accounts for nearly half of the projects we take on. These services commonly include: hydroseeding, slope stabilization, creek back stabilization, sinkhole repair, erosion and sediment control, vegetation preparation, remediation, environmental cleanup, and mitigation, and natural disaster/subsidence repair. We understand the importance of preserving water sources from runoff and sediment, and we are proud to protect it. With our hydroseeding services, the grass is always greener on the other side. Hydroseeding is a quick, efficient way to encourage vegetation growth. Using specialized equipment and slurry mixtures, our team is able to access hard-to-reach spaces and help facilitate sustainable vegetation establishment much quicker than traditional means and methods. We successfully achieve these goals by testing soil on-site and mixing a custom slurry mixture to properly balance acidity and pH levels in the soil. We also use custom seed mixes native to the area to withstand weather and elements.

Hydro-Pneumatic Excavation is an unconventional, safe alternative form of excavation used in sensitive areas. Also commonly known as “soft-digging”. It is typically reserved for handling projects that are within proximity of high amounts of existing utilities. This service includes utility potholes, areas of high-risk excavation, and hydro-excavation to reach areas traditional methods can’t. We prioritize safety with every service, which ensures that utilities and other infrastructure do not get damaged.

This service involves crushing material to a custom size on-site using portable equipment, material screening, stockpiling, pit and site development, and overburden removal. We handle operations of various sizes, ranging from mobile crushing operations to abandoned site development. This crushed aggregate or recycled material can be utilized on-site or exported to other areas.
This service involves site grading for runways, parking lots, highways, drainages, athletic fields, and building pads. Our top-tier technology GPS site positioning system and GPS equipped machines utilize satellites to achieve real-time accuracy during projects, eliminating the need for an outside surveyor. This ensures that all sites are completed with extreme efficiency and accuracy.

This service includes segmented retaining walls, pour in place, natural stacked stone, verti block, precast concrete walls, slope and flat surface stabilization, buttressing walls, soil slope armoring, and enhanced rolled erosion product armoring.
